Monday Meandering

This weekend was full...full of fun, full of nerves, full of emotions, and full of family.

Saturday was the 4th and that unfortunately represents more than fireworks and freedom for me. Two years ago on July 4th, I lost a baby. I imagine that this holiday will never go by without mourning. It's still difficult. I did a good job at holding back my emotions for the entire day. When I went to bed that night and looked at the clock on my bedside table, I saw that it was 11:45, and suddenly it hit me that I had only fifteen minutes left of "her day." And it all came rushing out. My husband didn't even need to ask what was wrong. He knew. He let me cry and whispered to me that we would see her someday soon and that she is being well taken care of where she it at. Of course, I know all of that. But it doesn't stop me from missing her...it doesn't stop my heart from aching for her.

So it was kind of a bittersweet day. We had a good time with family, even though it rained pretty much non-stop. The fireworks got canceled because of the rain, so we just came home and hung out at home for the night (later on I won the Six Flags tickets, which was awesome!!).

Sunday was quite an experience for me. A couple of months ago, my friend convinced me to join the new adult drama team that she was starting at my church, and yesterday we ministered for the first time. I wasn't nervous at all until right before we went onstage, and then all of a sudden I was a bundle of nerves! We did a human video and it actually went really well. It felt really good to be ministering again, even though I shook like a leaf the entire time! Several people commented on how much it had touched them. I was so thankful to be able to be part of something that could touch even one life.

Well, that was my weekend! I hope you had a great holiday!
